About amykathryn
Amy Hall, the creator and designer of amykathryn handbags, is not your average Jane. Raised in Phoenix, Arizona, her family and upbringing are anything but typical. Her grandfather, Charles Keating Jr., built the magnificent five-star resort, The Phoenician, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her father and brother, Gary Hall Sr. and Jr. are the only father-son duo in history to make 3 Olympics, earning a combined 13 Olympic medals and breaking 12 world records in swimming. The list goes on, with no small shoes to fill, but Hall has risen to the challenge.
She lists her mother, Mary Hall, and grandmother, Mary Elaine Keating, as her guiding inspiration - both women were behind The Phoenician and both have encouraged Hall's creative talents in design. Hall has a deep-rooted passion for Africa, where she traveled with her grandparents as a child. This passion led her to major in Anthropology as well as Art History at the University of Arizona. From there she went on to open a museum-quality furniture and art gallery in Scottsdale. Her career in the arts led her to Los Angeles where she attended Otis School of Design and became a designer of fabrics and accessories.
Today, amykathryn is one of the fastest growing brands on the market. Celebrity clients include Pink, Hillary Duff, Selma Blair, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Leann Rimes. Hall's future goals include expanding into a lifestyle brand and incorporating her eco-friendly philosophy into all aspects of product and design.
