Yummy and Easy Alfredo (to rival the best italian restaurant.
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons of Butter (the REAL stuff works the best!)
2 Large garlic cloves
2 Tablespoons of flour
1 small carton of Heavy Whipping Cream
1 Cup of Milk
1 1/2 cups of Kraft Paremsean, Asiago, Romano Cheese (it's in a plastic canister just like paremesan cheese, and it's shredded, not powder) OR a package of shredded Italian Cheese mix (found in the dairy isle).
Salt and Pepper to taste
In a sauce pan (I find a non-stick is best) melt butter over medium heat.
Toss in the garlic and cook until fragrant, but not yet brown.
Add the flour, and whisk constantly until mixture is smooth and bubbly.
While whisking, slowly pour in the heavy cream. Whisk almost constantly until bubbly.
Mix in the cheese, whisking constantly until cheese is melted.
Slowly add 1/2 of the milk.
Add salt and pepper (I start with 1 teaspoon of salt and 2 teaspoons of pepper).
Do a taste test.
If you are happy with the texture of the sauce, pour it over your favorite pasta immediately.
If the sauce is too thick for your liking, slowly add more milk, a couple Tablespoons at a time until desired consistantly is reached.
If sauce is not served immediately, it can thicken up. Simply add a little extra milk until desired consistancy is reached again.
